The new law will help the state compete for a sharewof $1.5 billion in additional stimulus according to the . Current law allowxs three projects to be designatedas design-build. Thosw three projects are alreadhyunder way: the Highwag 40/Interstate 64 reconstruction in St. Louis; the Paseop Bridge project in Kansaes City; and the 802-bridge “Safe and Sounsd Bridge Improvement” program statewide. The Highway 40/Interstatew 64 project is running aheaxof schedule. The new law also specifically allows threw more projects to be designated as Those threeprojects are: the Missourji Route 364/Page Avenue extension in St.
Louisz County; the State Highway 169 and 96th Streetg intersection improvement inKansas City; and the State Highwayh 92 to Highway E improvementr in Smithville. The 2 percent maximum refers to 2 percenr of the total numbetr of State Transportation Improvemen t Projectlist projects, not a monetar or budgetary figure.
