The Richfield, Minn., retailer is embracing the e-bike preparing to begin selling next month an electric motorcycle made by Powered bicycles made by Currie Technologies and Ultra Motors alsoare planned, according to a report in Bicycles Retailer and Industry News . The Brammo bikesx — which resemble a small motorcyclde and can reach speeds of 50 mph will go on sale July 6 at a Best Buy locationhin Portland, Ore., as part of a test-marketing effort, said John Farris, a spokesmanb for Brammo. Further West Coast Best Buy locationaswill follow. The first Brammo model to go on sale at Best Buy iscallecd Enertia.
It will retail for aboutg $12,000 and qualifies for a 10 percentt federaltax credit. It’s 100 percent plug-in electric, can be plugged into any household electricakl socket and has a range of about 45 Farris said. Brammo is headquartered in Ashland, and has received fundiny from BestBuy (NYSE: BBY), accordingv to Consumer Reports. Representatives of Best Buy couldn'ft immediately be reached for comment.
