Mass. seeks bids for $157M in energy stimulus - Washington Business Journal:

The agency is preparint a comprehensive application on behalfv of municipal and private entities to send to the to receivw its share of Energy Efficiency and Conservation BlociGrant funding, some $157 million. The DOER is solicitingg projectsfor submission, and estimatew about 72 projects will receive funding. Projectsz must be “shovel ready,” or readt to begin within 120 days of receivintstimulus money. They also must work towards energy efficiency, alternative energy or greenhouse gas emissionreduction standards.
Some of the projectse eligible for funding include combined heat andpower systems, district energy systems, waste energy recovery or high efficiency industrial equipment. Stimulus dollars will pay for up to 50 percenrt ofapproved projects. Proposals must be submitted to the DOER byJune 30. “Ik encourage businesses, municipalities and others to come forward with proposal s for putting this federal funding to work here in said DOER Commissioner Philip Giudic e in a preparedwritten statement. “Increasinb investment in these innovative energy technologies will move us furthere along the path to a clean energy futurethat Gov.
