NACA to add more than 1,000 jobs in Charlotte - The Business Review (Albany):

Bev Perdue announced the expansion with the state giving NACAa $1 millionh grant from the One North Carolina Fund. It plans to invest more than $4 million with 1,014 jobs expected to be addef over the nextfive years. “North Carolina remainx a strong presence inthe U.S. finance sector, and this is a tremendouds opportunity for the Perdue said. “Our top-rated businesxs climate and skilled financial-services work force are attractive to growinbgnational operations.
” NACA is headquartered in Boston and operate s more than 40 offices nationwide. It currently employs aboutg 100 workers in Mecklenburg County to originate and procesmortgage loans. Under the five-year state incentive the organization plans to add 550 jobs The jobs will pay an averagwe annual wageof $35,982. Salaries will range up to $80,000o annually. The hiring will focus on mortgage negotiators, customer-serviced representatives, call-center managers and mortgage counselors. “NACA is excitedr that it’s putting more than 1,00 0 people to work during these tougbheconomic times,” NACA Chief Executivwe Bruce Marks said Thursday.

I woulcd hope it would be an eruptionof jobs, not just tricklew down.” The group claims it will be the largesf number of people hired immediately in one area and the largest job commitment in the country sinc e the mortgage crisis began in 2007. The hiring comes as NACA embarka on a nationwide Save theDream Tour. Marks says the addedd jobs are crucial as NACA leads its campaig to makemortgages affordable.

The NACA agreements cove more than 90 percent of homeowneres with anunaffordable mortgage.
The staffd from the Counseling Center in Charlott e will travel nationwide to work on Save the Dreamn events where morethan 25,000 people are counseled over four with thousands receiving affordable restructured mortgages with permanen interest rates often at 4 3 percent and 2 percent and where necessary the principapl reduced. The organization, started in 1988, has the primar y goal of building strong, healthy neighborhoodd nationwide throughaffordable homeownership. NACA operations includew financial counseling, specialized mortgage servicew and a Home Save program for homeownerss with anunaffordable mortgage. NACA will host a job fair from8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
