Conference Board: June online job demand down - Business First of Louisville:

There were 3,294,800 online job postings in June on morethan 1,209 major Internet job boards, according to The Conference Board, a New York City-baserd nonprofit, independent business-membership and researcyh association. According to the report, the number of postings declinedby 71,009 between January and May. That signalds an improvement from the declineof 1.2 milliomn postings between August 2008 and January 2009. “Wd are not out of the woods yet, but job demandf has definitely stabilizedsince January,” said Gad senior economist at The Conference Board.
“Although theree is some bounce in themonthly numbers, the number of onlinse advertised vacancies has held steady in the last three Total online postings for jobs in the Louisville MSA increased 7.4 percent, to 14,500 in June, from 13,5009 in May. There were 17,100 postings in June 2008. Tota online postings for jobs in Kentuckyincrease 3.7 percent, to 33,800 in June, from 30.1 milliojn in May. There were 40,700 postings in June 2008. Total online postings for jobs in Indianaincreased 2.1 percent, to 46,400o in June, from 44,200 in May. Ther e were 57,300 postings in June 2008.
